PRIME TIME

Leaders: Matt Schillinger, Jamey Schillinger, Caleb Baldwin, Angela Sevier
Time: Sunday Nights @ 6:37pm during the School Year
Location: 1st Baptist of Lake St. Louis
Emphasis: Study

Prime Time is an awesome Bible Study that rocks out like you wouldn't believe. Prime Time is not just a small group, it's an experience. Though nothing is ever the same, Prime Time is usually divided up into three separate parts that work well together and minister to students in an outstanding way.

First, there is usually some type of lame game, sometimes without even a specific point. In the past, we have played Gladiator (competitors place thigh high panty hose on their head and peg each other with tennis balls), Joust (players hop towards each other with plastic baseball bats hoping to knock away the basketball strategically held by their opposition), and Beat the Dog (two players are blindfolded and one is given a rolled up newspaper). Other games include numerous word games, group games that involve interaction, or even large group board games. The intention here is fellowship, and fellowship is often achieved.

Then, there is an exciting worship experience led by our very own youth band, the Water Walkers. Words cannot describe the experience when the key band members are jamming out in a spirit-filled arena. With their modern style of worship, they can be described as extravagant, outlandish, and LOUD. They definitely reach the youth, and our great example of today's "dancing generation."

Finally, there is an incredible Bible Study led by various people ranging from youth pastor Tom Papez to guest adult speakers to well-trained youth group members. This group has seen its share of great visitors, one of the best was when Ms. Missouri came and gave her testimony in the spring of 2003.

PRIME TIME RALLY:The first Sunday each month is dedicated to something called PRIME TIME RALLY. Presently speaking, there are roughly 6 Sunday morning Bible Studies and around 10 small groups that all do youth ministry together. Quite honestly, its an amazing force! And once a month, all the groups plug into PRIME TIME RALLY and blow the roof off. If you're new to the church's youth group and looking for a plug-in place, start here.

REBELLION

Leader: Matt Schillinger and Nick Robertson
Time: Thursday Nights @ 6:30pm
Location: 1st Baptist of Lake St. Louis
Emphasis: Service

A couple of years ago, a handful of talented Christian musicians became an inspired bunch of sold out believers. Led by a talented computer genius who had previously played in a popular secular band that use to play gigs to packed audiences throughout the St. Louis area, the group called the the Rebellion is made up of mostly youth. They practice diligently in order to give their excellence to the Lord; meanwhile, continue to add players and disciples as the Lord allows them to emerge.

But Rebellion is much more than a small group bent on the service of leading worship in both youth church and regular church from time to time, they are a well bonded group of friends who would literally die for one another. Their Bible Studies are tight, but most importantly, their accountability to the commitment of their walk with the Lord is supreme. If you're a Christian musician, wanting to play with a well-traveled Christian youth group, then Rebellion could be a home for you. But you better come to work, because God is using this group to make a difference.

FOCUS ONE

Leaders: Jamey Schillinger, Barb Pemberton
Time: Thursday Nights @ 6:30pm
Location: 1st Baptist of Lake St. Louis
Emphasis: Study

Do you remember when you were younger, like when you were 5 years old, and everybody was your friend? Remember when you would meet that other little kid at the supermarket while shopping with Mom and claiming, "hey Mommy, I just made a new friend." Well, with the loving girls of Focus One, those childhood memories are re-created because these girls really care.

They also have fun. From lock-ins to school contests, heck, they even create their own competitive dodgeball team each year. This girls-only Bible Study also regularly serves the Lord through the Oasis, a local food pantry that distributes food to those less fortunate. As you can tell, they are very special.

So girls, what is it exactly your looking for? Close emotional female friendships? A study designed to meet the needs of female teenagers? A comfort zone to share your innermost feelings without judgement? Well, then Focus One is your small group.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE

Leaders: Ron Watson and Ronnie
Time: Friday Nights @ 6:30pm

Emphasis: Fellowship

Jesus Christ came down from heaven in order to die for our sins. In so doing, He sets for us an incredible example of love. Well, here at 1st Baptist of Lake St. Louis, our youth group takes the "Go" principle pretty seriously.

What do we mean? Well, Friday Night Live is a small group that takes place in a rural section of Wright City, an estimated 40 minute drive from our home location. But because of the faithfulness of the Watson family and their sacrifices, they give up their home one night a week and carry on excellent fellowship. Though male focused, this study is ultimately open to anyone at all but targets youth who live at or near the Wright City school district. This group is led by adult small group leader Ron Watson and the prodigy Ronnie Watson whose compassion for others knows no bounds.
